Epic Canoe Adventure on Tuul River
Paddle a canoe on Queen Tuul River from Khentii Mountains to Terelj National Park and enjoy the sights of densely grown bushes, green meadows, rocky hillsides and grazing herds and nomad settlements along the river bank.

Day 1: | Terelj National Park In the morning we will leave for Terelj located about 80 km Northeast of Ulaanbaatar. It is part of Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. The park with its granite rocks, pine trees and river is a picturesque area that is perfect for hiking, horse riding or just sit back, relax and enjoy the view. We will visit several sightseeing places in the area. Our first stop will be the Genghis Khan Monument. The Gengis Khan Monument is a vast aluminium monument of Gengis Khan on his horse. It’s possible to climb to the top of the monument from where you have a gear view of the surrounding area. There is a little museum that explains Mongol empire history. After visiting the monument, we will be driving further into the
park and stop at 100 monks cave. This small cave was once used by 100 monks as hiding place during communist
persecution. You can see the cave wall blackened as a result of fire and smoke.
We will visit further Turtle Rock and Aryaval Meditation Monastery at foot of mountain. There are good possibilities for hiking, climbing, horseback riding and swimming. In the evening we will reach our canoeing start spot. (Tented camp B, L, D) |

Day 2 - 3: |
Canoeing Tuul
river takes its source far north in Khentii Mountain range. The
Khentii Mountains are
a mountain range in the Töv and Khentii Provinces in northern Mongolia. The
chain overlaps the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area and includes
The range forms the
watershed between the Arctic Ocean (via Lake Baikal) and the Pacific Ocean
basins. Rivers originating in the range include the Onon, Kherlen, and Tuul - our
destination river.
Generally
slow flowing river with occasionally fast rapids. No hassle, quite easy
canoeing with beautiful landscapes unfolding. River
will take us through the valley surrounded on both sides by high, densely
forested mountains and rocky formation of erosion. They valley is covered by
wild flowers & plants and peacefully grazing herds of yaks, horses, goats
& sheep and many Gers of nomads peacefully minding their business, taking
care of their livestock.

Day 4: | Ulaanbaatar After breakfast we
will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. You may enjoy the free late afternoon to catch
up all the places you haven’t visited yet. You might as well check the
beautiful cultural show enjoy the colourful and rhythmic Mongolian dance,
throat singing & admire the contortionists.
